Le Mans Choir

The chevet or choir area of Le Mans Cathedral is regarded as one of the most beautiful and inspired works of art among the Gothic cathedrals of France. The church was originally established as a resting place for Christian relics in order to attract more pilgrims and adherents to Christianity and to reinvest the religion with its original force. The architectural sweep of the cathedral is overwhelming as the pointed arches and tall pillars lead the perception upwards. The design was meant to overwhelm the psychology and establish the fact that there is something far greater than the ordinary human subjective viewpoint.
